was sitting on stoop and heard this noise that was extremely loud but i couldn't see it until i leaned over my porch railing and seen something very big but so dark you really couldn't tell what shape. i remember seeing some orange/red lights. for some reason i said, "i hear you but i can't see you." this is when i took the first picture when it was very close to my house, i would guess telephone pole high or roof top high. i was using a 110 instamatic camera, so after i took the first picture i had to wait for the light to come back on inorder to take another picture. when the light came back on, i took the second picture. this thing was going up and away. within seconds, in seems, it was gone. what puzzles me is, if this thing was as loud and it was, how come i didn't hear it when it was far away and coming closer to me. anyway the next day i talked to a few people in the city of cumberland, md where i live and many people heard it, went out to look for it, one friend looked but didn't see it, other people thought a plane may have crashed. the cumberland police were called. i made a police report and they had many calls about this "thing" . after this the cumberland times newspaper started putting articles about ufo's in the local paper. I ended up sending about 9 copies of my pictures to Budd Hopkins and his associate Peter Robbins to look at. Mr. Hopkins told my that my pictures are very interesting. the pictures were suppose to be sent to Bruce MacAbee to be looked at, but when i wrote him a letter about them, he didn't recall them. HMMM.... anyway, i've made many enlargements of them and studied them myself and find them very interesting. I have always believed, still do and always will.
