Full Description & Details

A friend and I were snow sledging in the grounds of a local agricultural college, when I spotted a bright yellow shape in the eastern sky moving northwards. The best way of describing it is if you can imagine a close up shot of a single jet engine (without the attached plane obviously) viewed from an oblique angle. It was like a cigar standing on it's end about 1 -2 miles away. The shape was so large, that had it indeed been an aircraft from the scale of the object it would have been maybe 100metres away, so we knew it wasn't a plane!! It was completely silent, which we also knew would not have been the case had it been an aircraft at that distance, and it moved quite slowly but evenly across the sky. We both saw it quite clearly for about 15 - 20 seconds. We told our parents who, it being New Years Eve, were too drunk to take a couple of 15 year olds seriously!!
