Full Description & Details

Was drift fishing on port side of my 20 ft boat, 6 miles NE of Barnegat Inlet. NJ. Day was clear with little clouds and calm sea with few boats around. Had feeling that something was close to me (another boat) so I turned and looked to stern area on starboard side of boat and saw a circular object just above the water which was about to pass almost directly over my head. It was solid metal, no lights, no markings and I saw no windows nor any visable exhaust or landing gear, completely silent and not spinning. My bimini top was up so I jumped up on port side gunwale and viewed the object as it headed on straight line SW and just north of the Barnegat Lighthouse for 9 seconds, then gained altitude and passed just north of lighthouse over Island Beach State Park. Inland of Barnegat Inlet is nuclear power plant near Waretown, south near Atlantic City is FAA Tech facility, west is Lakehurst Naval Air Station and Mc Guire Air Force base. Wish I had some sort of camera onboard to document the siting.
