Full Description & Details

I was very young, definately pre-school age. One late evening I found myself surrounded by "boy scouts" escorting me to a feild near my home. They were about my size in height. The "boy scouts" had a on uniforms of a sort but I asked them why they were not wearing their boy scout hats. They, or one, responded "We don't wear hats." When we got to the field I found myself in a circle of beaming lights or poles or something. I looked directly above me and saw a large disk shaped object hovering and silent. The object had colorful lights on its outer rim. I asked, "what's that?" and one of the "boy scouts" said it is a "helicopter." I said, "it doesn't look like a helicopter."

That is all I remember. I told mom and dad about it. They didn't think much of my vivid experience. Mom later told me that one morning when we lived in this town she found me with my pajams on backwards. We moved from that town before I started first grade. I remember asking mom why we were moving and she said "There are too many strange things happening here." I recall several odd experiences when we lived there that are difficult to explain here. I am certain this was not a dream.

Other Comments

In approximately 1993 I was reading a book written by a Harvard educated psychiatrist who won a Nobel prize for his work (I don't exactly recall the author's name, maybe John Mack). It was a big book that explored possible meanings of UFO sightings, abductions, etc. including philosophical implications. There was a section of the book where the author writes of interviewing "thousands" of people with very similar experience as I describe above. I recall that there was a "coupon" near the back of the book that asked if a reader had a "similar boy scout" experience to please respond. I did not respond. Oddly, after I read that part in the book, I received a phone call from my younger brother and learned that my dad had died. I thought reading the book and my dad's death were somehow connected, not purely coincidental.
