Friend called me and Said the News said there was a UFO over Eugene. KEZI (Local TV Station) I guess showed it with some nice zoom in from their Camerason the 11:00 News. He said it had been up there for a couple hours and that the news had been getting calls on it from about 9:00 PM.

Another Friend and I drove to where it was reported. There were a few people in the parking lot. They pointed it out to us. It initially was very dim with Light pollution and haze. We brought our cameras and a pair of Binoculars.

It moved a bit then hovered and we were able to get a better view of it. We watched it for the next 20 - 30 minutes while more people from town streamed in. It was too faint for our cameras to pick up, but with the Binoculars there was much more clarity.

The Object would Move a bit then Hover in place for about 5 minutes or so, then move in another direction and Hover again. You could tell it was hovering by its stationary position to background stars. When it moved sometimes it was slow, and sometimes very fast. Total movement over 20 minutes encompased about 90 Degrees of the sky. Eventually it moved rapidly down and farther off and went over the horizon. This seemed like a controlled movement and not like it crashed.

If the Object moved normally it would have likely been mistaken for an Airplane. With the Binoculars it had various lights in a triangle shape. A Red one Up top, and a Green one on the left and sometimes another green one or red one on the right. The Green Light would sometiems be very bright, and other times would dim, perhaps as the light pointed other directions. At one time it started flashing a Bright blue light in the middle for a total of 4 lights.

The News is going to repeat their coverage on their morning editions. KEZI Channel 9 in Eugene. A Call to the Station indicates they shall not likely put the video online, unfortunately.

The Day was sunny and about 90 degrees and clear skies. Some Haze then clouds moved in at night. Clouds a couple hours later were moving opposite the direction that the Object was last seen travelling. The Moon was near Full but in the other half of the Sky.

Due to the flight characteristics it seems the Object is Unidentified. It was not a plane because planes don't hover for 5 minutes at a time. It did not move like a baloon and although its movement was mostly ZigZag and it sometimes moved slowly like drifint, its was also controlled, and would move quite speedily when it wanted and stop abruptly. Using the Binoculars its size esitmate was about that of a small plane, but bigger than a Predator or unmanned Flying Vehicle. It was not swamp Gas but clearly technological lights. A Helicopter is the closest that I can think of to its movement capabilities, but it did not move like a Helicopter precisely. I believe Venus and Saturn align tonight, but it definately was not in Space and was Atmospheric. Stars or planets would not cross the sky in 20 minutes. If the reports of sightings at 9:00 PM are correct then the Object stayed in view for 3 Hours. It took about 2 minutes to depart once it started that direction. It was not a Kite. It could have been Man Made but I do not know of such a craft.

The Lights were in a Triangle pattern. This is quite similar to what one would see of a planes lights at night. The Color of the Red Light on the object was virtually identical to the Red lights we use on our planes. No sound was heard, but at its height no sound would be expected. The Lights did not flash like our plane lights do. When we first arrived people said there was a Yellow light, but I saw no such light with my binoculars. Typically there were 2 - 3 lights shown, The Red top and the Green left were predominant. There was also a third light to form a triangle. Once for a few moments a Bright Blue light strobed in the middle, somewhat similar to our plane lights, but only shown briefly.

I did not view it with Binoculars the whole time, as I was the only one there with Binocs and was passing them around to the other people to see better.

A Family arrived right after it went over the horizon and they said they had been watching it in the next city over (SpringField), which would indicate it was not a local parking lot visual hoax.

The Direction it dissappeared in is also the general direction towards the Eugene Airport. It made its way lower and farther away to the Horizon in that general direction.

It seemed to be up in the Sky Fairly High, about medium to low plane altitude, but perhaps higher most the time.

Before I saw it I thought it might be Saturn and Venus alinging up as they were reported to do tonight. But then I saw it and it was close and it moved.

My Friend thinks it is a Flying Saucer. I cannot identify any current craft it could be, but to me it seemed man-made, primarily due to the color of its Red light.

The object drifted and hovered and moved slowly or swiftly across the night sky. We watched it for about 30 minutes, and supposedly it was in the sky for a couple hours before we started viewing it.

We lost sight of the object after it went down and over the Horizon. We watched where it was last seen for about 15 minutes but it did not reappear. Due to its flight patterns it could have popped up in another sector of the horizon though. When I first saw it it was about 20Degrees above the N Horizon. It then made its way to about 40 Degrees above the NW, and then went over the horizon to the west. If I faced where I first saw it and then pivoted to where it went over the horizon I would have turned my body just over 90 degrees.
