Full Description & Details

Having stopped, turned off engine and wound down car windows, watched the 'light' move horizontally, behind nearby trees and a bungalow. It was perfectly elliptical (apparently), with long axis horizontal and aspect ration about 2:1. There was no audible noise. Colour was 'pure' white and very even - no '3D' clues were evident. Edges were sharp. The moon was out and about 2/3 full. Object was about one moon-diameter in size on short axis. Apparent velocity was about one moon-diameter per second.

Distance and size of object were very hard to estimate. It passed behind nearby (200m) trees & bungalow and in front of distant 1Km) trees. I haven't done the maths.

It didn't look like any known aircraft, balloon, or swarm of insects etc. It might have been a big piece of illuminated card on the back of a lorry - but it was over fields and moving totally smoothly so I've assumed it was a flying object.
