Full Description & Details

As an adolescent boy my adoptive aunt and I were driving west on Dayton-Liberty Rd to visit my cousin and her husband in a new suburban housing developement just east of Union Rd in Jefferson Twp in Ohio. I was not looking in the direction of the flashing object that caught my aunts attention when she said, "Andy, what is that?" Without looking I said,"Oh, it's probably just a plane with its approach lights on." She pulled off to the rightside of the road and stopped and pointed, "No Andy, what is that?" I loked to the SW where she was pointing and was perplexed and intrigued by what I saw approaching. I was a jet plane buff at an early age, I dreamed of becoming a test pilot and studied military and civilian aircraft in books I regularly checked out of the public library. I could identify any published aircraft in the Air Force inventory at the time just by its sillouette. This eleptical white object was not even close to being anything like any I'd ever seen before or could have imagined.

I got partly out of the car by sitting in the open window of my passenger-side door with my feet on the seat and my arms resting on the roof of the car. As the clearly observable object came almost directly overhead it slowed to a hover for a second. my aunt was nearly in a panic, or in shock. Just as I began to get a little apprehensive the object cclerated away at incredible spped to the NE out of sight. Strangely, not another vehicle was on the road or passed us in either direction the whole time. Nobody was even in their yard or on their porch or on the road to witness the object.

I slid back in the car and got my aunt to drive on to her daughter's, less than 5 minutes away. Even though we told her daughter, my aunt did not want to report the sighting to authorities because "they would not believe us." I've related this story on rare occassion to friends of mine is all.

Witness Background

At the time I was about 12 or 13 years old. But as I described in more detail above, I could infalibly identify contemporary military, civilian, and general avaiation aircraft by their sillouette alone.
