Full Description & Details

I was driving my son's friend back to his house on a sunday night, an all of a sudden my son (14) and I see up in the sky this bright green light with a yellow fire like tail "falling" for like 25 seconds and then dissapeared.

This has being bugging me for almost two months and I have not come up with any good explanation for such event. Maybe a flare, but flares usually go upwards, a meteorite? UFO gunfire?

Has someone seen something like this?
