Full Description & Details

It was a Saturday morning in the summer time. Several of us had paper routes. On

Saturdays we would all meet down the street and throw all the routes together. Then

we would go swimming. On this morning we were all there waiting. Johnny Smith

(owner of JRs Glass and mirror in Spicewood, TX) Tommy Hasty(now a fishing guide)

myself(Jerry Stewart)brother Joe Stewart and a few others. We were waiting for

Tommy Burt (still an Austin resident) to show. As we waited, it was still very dark,

with just a hint of dawn. Out of the night appeared 6 (that I saw) round discs about

1/4th of a mile up traveling slowly and quietly but obviously under power even though

all you could hear was a very faint sound of wind being displaced. These discs were

likely 160 feet across and could only be seen when almost directly overhead. They seemed to be made of a sort of burnished aluminum which reflected light only when

nearly directly overhead. When reaching an angle of probably 60degrees overhead

they would appear and disappear at the same angle. Shortly after they left the area

Tommy Burt showed up. His house was due west of where we were and the

saucers were traveling due west right down his street. He had seen them also.

These objects had no lights, blinking or otherwise, The edge of the saucer was not

sharp, but rose at an angle of maybe 75 degrees for as much as eight feet. The top

and the bottom were both flat, with no windows. The saucers did not appear to be

spinning. An old man who lived on the corner was going to work at his shoe shop at

the time. When we regained our senses, we noticed that he was there and still staring

at the sky. We convinced him that he was not going crazy and we had seen them also.

We reported the incident to the Austin Police and The Air Force. The Air force sent a

Colonel to our homes (in full dress)and informed us that we had seen "space trash"

that landed a few days later in Kansas. We were as rude to him as he was dishonest

with us. These objects had to have flown directly over or nearby Bergstrom Air Force

Base just outside of Austin, Texas. We have never forgotten this incident and we have

never heard a viable explanation. We did not agree on how many there were. Some thought as many as 13. I saw 6.

Witness Background

I am a home improvement and repair contractor. I have some college. My wife has recently obtained her degree in business management. 3 daughters, 2 in college. I have kept in touch with most of the other people present at the time. However, the shoe repairman died several years ago. His family still lives at the house.
