while riding in passenger side of vehicle looking out window.

It rose from the ground and took off into the sky completely vertical from the earth.

The speed increased as it left.

I felt elated and hoped that someone else had seen it.

Since I was the only one, I am willing to pass it off as a reflection from the car's glass. The coincidence that a reflection would have rising at that particular angle is unlikely considering the curving of the vehicles glass. Persistence of vision gave it a columnar appearance. Any help or similar experiences will be appreciated.
