Full Description & Details
I was around 11 or 12 years old at the time, and visiting relatives with my brother and parents, a regular vacation each year to Closeburn.
We had travelled back from Dumfries on a bus, and as we neared Closeburn we could see a circular object in the sky above the village. When we arrived at the village a lot of the residents were already observing what appeared to be a ufo, round in shape, silvery, with darker circles around the outer rim. It was stationary over the village for a very long time, so we all had a good look at it, a couple of people even had binoculars to observe it.
There was a telephone box, and someone used it to call one of the authorities to report it. Whilst we were still watching it, it shot accross the sky and disappeared at a speed that left us speachless.
The newspaper report a couple of days later, stated that the official report from the air force said that they had not picked anything up on radar, and that it was probably a weather balloon.
The whole of the village that witnessed it, KNOW that this is not true. We did not see a weather balloon that day, we ALLl saw a UFO for a very long time.
I cannot deny what I saw, and therefore know that we are not alone as a human race.
