It was a very clear, winter night, and there were a lot of stars out. W hile I was marveling at the beauty of the stars, I noticed an unusally bright one among them. At first, I thought it was one of the planets, like Venus or Mars. But it was even brighter then I had ever seen any planet be. Suddenly, the "star" streaked off at about an 45 degree angle, and disappeared. At first, I shrugged it off as being a meteorite, but later realized that meteorites don't tend to remain stationary for several seconds, and then shoot across the sky and disappear...
