Full Description & Details

Talking at night, looking out over the ocean and up into the night sky, two bright orange lights appeared, side by side. A friend said "Look at that!" We all looked, and to me, it appeared as if it could be a helicopter hovering... but it was absolutely silent... or, oddly enough, a blimp... but all we could see were the lights... and no sound whatsoever. Then the lights just disappeared, with no sound... and that was it. About 10 minutes later we saw an air force jet way up high, much higher than I would've thought the lights were... approached the area where the lights were (but much higher and not quite above it) then turn around and go back in the direction from which it came. And that was it.

We hypothesized that it might have been either two pieces of a meteorite, both exactly the same size, falling and extinguishing at exactly the same time... or perhaps an air force jet's afterburners... but there was absolutely no sound at all, either during or immediately after. But we COULD hear the sound of the jet that appeared later, much higher, and presumably, much farther away.

The sizes below are absolute guesses since it was nearly impossible to tell how far away the object was. Size of lights: each 10 feet across. Distance between the lights: 60 feet. Distance away: 1000 - 2000 yards.

All 6 of us saw it.
