It looked like a very bright star, or bright light initially. then it dimmed to look exactly like a star

maybe a mile to a mile and a half north and well above the distant tree line

it occurred over a distant farm and tree line, but felt as though it was farther past that. in a rural area

I was standing on my back prch about 12:30am. I watched a plane fly over head going northwest from my home, I looked to the east and saw what appeared to be a very bright star. About that time I noticed the "star" moving side to side very quickly, so quickly all I could see were the tracers left behind. The "star" then began to dim and brighten, it moved higher up into the sky, got dim to the point it looked exactly like a star and then disappeared. My body became paralyzed for about 30 seconds, and the whole thing lasted less than 5 minutes.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

No. I went back outside in the daylight and ther are no towers of any sort, and i saw airplanes in the sky and know the difference. I have watched this same view from my porch for 4 years and have never seen this in the sky before.

I have never really thought much on the subject before last night. I am too scared now, no to.
