UFO Sighting Report

Summary:

Class was observing the constellation cassiopeia when off to the left of the center of the constellation two new bright stationary stars showed up. These were twice as bright as the other stars of the constellation. They began to increase on brightness, no movement was noticed. I thought an unknown heavenly object was going to collide with earth, as they increased in brightness.

College Compus, urban. No planets, moon out. Airplanes were in other portion of sky and looked nothing like these flaring up stars.

Astronomy Lab Class was looking at constellation Cassiopeia, when suddenly two extra bright stars appeared. They continued to increase in brightnest until reaching Mag -3 then they went dark.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

No. I personally got the feeling that we were colliding with a heavenly object as the thng got larger and larger.

I thought this may have been either two novas occuring simultaneously which is unlikely.
