the Object was extremely bright and was stationary for about 20 seconds it was to far away to describe

relative size was my fingers about 2 cm apart and it moved 6inches straight up and disappeared into space

Far away, Many miles away, and and about a 40 degree angle rise

Description of Area / Surroundings

A Trailer park . It was dark and cold out. the stars were out and the sky was clear. Mars was out and it was about 2 inches right of Mars. i was looking north at the time i saw it.

Full Description & Details

I walked out side and was looking out at the night sky. At that point i saw what i thought was a Bright Star. I quickly realized that it was far to bright to be a star. As i watched the bright object it all of a sudden shot straight upwards and disappeared. It was brighter than any star. Brighter than Mars that year and when it moved it moved from a stationary position to what seemed like 100 plus miles an hiour but at that distance it could have been moving alot faster considering the distance that it traveled before it disappeared.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

the only thing other than ufo that i can think of is a asteriod bouncing off the atmosphere, but it would have had to be coming right at me for it to look like that.
