i could cover the object with my finger. actual size may have been 10 to 20 metres in lengh.

Surrounding area is a small town and countryside.

Full Description & Details

As seen by many witnesses in the towns of Darvel and Newmilns in Scotland, and was reported in a local newspaper. The day before the comet 'Halle Bop' came into visibillity, a strange saucer shaped object appeared and hovered above Darvel. The object slowly moved over the course of two days, eventually dissapearing when the comet was visible directly North. The object was photographed and some pictures were investigated, however nothing has been heard since.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

the object was hovering and moved very slowly, possibly about 100 yards in one whole day, then next day being visible at the same spot before dissapearing.

Born and bred in Darvel, currently work as a loading bay assistant.

Views on UFOs, before and after sighting

I believed in UFOs to an extent, for instance I had seen an object before but dismissed it, however this object was moving far too slow to be a satellite or plane, and was obviously saucer shaped (to every witness that saw it)

Other Comments

Almost exactly the same as the UFO seen in Rouen, France in 1957.
