Steady, solid green light about basketball size.

From where I was in my car, it looked about the size of a basketball. Seemed to be floating directly above a stop light.

Distance to Object(s) & Altitude

25 ft. high. We were about 20 ft away from the stoplight.

Rural area near a town square, high school, and residential homes.

I was driving home at about 11 PM in January 02 with a friend, when I stopped at a red light. We saw a green light hovering above the stop light, which was really confusing, so I pulled over to look at it. It was about the size of a basketball, and seemed to be floating right above the stoplight. It hovered for about 15 seconds, then shot up into the sky.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

Can't think of anything obvious.

Views on UFOs, before and after sighting

I'm pretty skeptical, and don't really know anything about UFOs .. but I can't think of any obvious explanation for this.
