Appearance / Description of Object(s)

bright fire red ( like fire engines are painted) perfect circle .. no smoke ..no noise ..slow movement (like flowing)

Size of Object(s)

close to 3/4 of the size of the sun ...sun was in same area above tree line

Description of Area / Surroundings

camping (just bought some land for family ) Cadet Mo 65 miles or so south of St Louis Mo near Hwy 21...woods.. gravel roads and the object was above the tree line ..till it disappeard behind the tree line

just a perfect bright red circle ...moving at a angle away from us and stayed between us. .and the sun ..the sun stayed on the right side in the sky ..and the red circle got smaller as it went away from our spot..not in size but in distance..moving away..till the tree line blocked it from view ...also

there was just blue sky... hardly any clouds(non in the area of the red circle)

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

i served in the US AirForce 1961-65 ..this happen mid 1970's so i know the difference when it comes to aircraft.... served at Elemdorf AFB Anchorage Alaska 2 years and 2 yrs at AVAINO AFB Italy...or birds or swamp gas or balloons or blimps or hot air balloons ..or another planet

went to Alaska Unv.. while i was in the Air Force 1961-65... carried US Mail till 1972 switched over to law enforcement for the poatal service till retired in 1997.also worked private security...

Views on UFOs, before and after sighting

well i was young when i went into the Airforce .. saw lots of aircraft...saw crash of a B-57 canberra.. while in alaska ...but not too much on any UFO Stuff... i for one didn't agree with the blue book findings...they made .....after the moon landing and things NASA people show on cable tv on UFO 's..i admit it hard not to think in this gaint space area .where we see our small little blue planet could we be the only planet like ours ..we are the only ones out there.......i feel there are too many creditable people like air line pilots ... in 1972 the ufo over the white house they can't explain hmmm \.
