At the time of sighting, I was around Penampang township another 5 km way to rural area. Yes..there is a damn in Penampang

Susan .F. Isidore from Malaysia. I am a mother of 1 and am now 32 years old. At that time in 1997 when I was 23 years old, around 12:30 at noon, I was driving towards the country from Kota Kinabalu city. Along the traffic light, I witnessed an unidentified flying object. It is bright and shining object moving high in the sky. It was just a glimpse (approx 5 seconds) and it dissapeared. At that time the sky was bright that I could have a clear look of that object. It is extraordinary and it is not an airplane.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

May be. That's my reason for saying it was an unidentified flying object.
