Appearance / Description of Object(s)
Typical saucer shaped with dome on top, silvery grey in color, the size of a small vehicle; too small for a regular man to fit in, I surmised at the time.
I thought it to be alien looking, bizarre yet fantastic beyond belief, like out of this world.
Had a sense of danger when observing it, like un-friendly in nature...but these are feelings only, and not based on logic.
Full Description & Details
I've had many encounters since childhood, not only of so-called ufo's, but also of so-called leprechauns, demons, balls of fire of various dimensions, apparitions, etc.
All events transpired mainly in the Sudbury region of Ontario, and I have not witnessed any further occurances since moving to Ottawa in 1983; my age is 47.
The following is the ordeal in Echo Bay, the weirdest of all my occurances.
Picture this...I'm visiting dear friends in a rural house in Echo Bay, its 4am Christmas morning, everyone in the house is sleeping except for me; I'm sitting in a lazy boy in a half reclined position in a corner of the living room, reading an interesting book about world government, when suddenly to my right at the bay window, a wide beam of light shone through the double set of curtains, in motion sweeping the entire living room, from end to end, and lasting only a few seconds; at the same moment the air within the room smelled of burnt electricity; all the hair of my neck and arms stood erect; there was a cold feeling in the air, but not of fear, for all was dead quiet with no sound; and the christmas tree at the adjacent left corner of the living room next to the entry way, the branches thereof were flapping like the wings of a bird in slow motion; the chair I was sitting on levitated a few inches with me on it, and the same chair banging the floor noiselessly in a somewhat violent manner, upon which time I decided to disembark the chair by jumping off of it without placing the recline lever back to its normal sitting position. I quickly looked back at the chair and it continued bobbing up and down on its own, but noiselessly.
As I made my way toward the entrance way to the living room and passing next to the christmas tree on my left, some of the branches swayed toward me as though to grab hold of me; even the trunk leaned toward me slightly. At that moment I backed off not knowing what to expect and darted through the entrance, turning left toward the ground floor bedroom, wherein my first wife and her female companion were sound asleep in separate beds.
Just as I entered the bedroom, located at the back side corner of the house, with the bedroom curtains drawn open, I could see through the window a small ship the size and shape of a volkswagon car, floating noiselessly some 2 feet above the surface of the snowy ground some 10 feet away from the house edge, at a speed of 5 or 10 miles per hour, with a dome at the top and a porthole type of foggy window at the lower end, with an eerie plasma type of exhaust emitting from the rear of the ship, heading toward the tree line 1/4 mile away from the open field wherein it was flying, gaining speed as it moved away from the house; the whole episode lasting no more than approx. 2 minutes; at which point and in astonishment I'm attempting to wake up the two sleeping women with loud whispers, but by the time I convinced them to stand up from their beds to peek outside the window, the ship had reached the tree line, and disappeared from view.
In excitement, my thoughts went back to the events in the living room, and I was able to drag their sleepy minds to perhaps witness the strange happenings there; and as I was at lead with them in tow on our way to the living room, all was the same as when I had previously left the room, i.e. the tree and lazy boy chair were still acting up...so to speak, but as soon as the women entered the field of sight, all suddenly stopped and motionless.
The women were disappointed that I had awakened them for nothing, so it seemed, and they wasted no time returning to their slumber and rest in bed
But 5 minutes later, at approx. 4:15am the telephone rang, which awoke the parents upstairs, who happened to answer the phone. They rushed downstairs to inform all of us that the hospital had just called saying their son had gotten into a snowmobile accident, colliding with a street-side mailbox, which mailbox had hit his helmut and gave him a bad concussion, but that while his head was swayed sideways by the impact, his girlfriend sitting behind him got the mailbox embedded into her face, killing her in the process.
I asked the son later that same morning whether or not he had seen anything strange that fateful night, but he would not answer, and to this day I don't know if there is a connection between the accident and the "ufo".
At about noon that same morning, my wife and I decided to depart for Sudbury, our hometown.
Before leaving Echo Bay, my car engine timing was way off its normalcy, and found it difficult to adjust the timing to the right beat; and half way to Sudbury my engine smoked, and upon opening the hood saw that the engine block was red like a tomatoe, overheated and seized beyond repair; yet the car was running smooth and well the day prior to the "ufo" sighting.
The end of this true story.
Another incident happened in Sudbury in the mid "70's in broad daylight in the summer time, at about 3pm if I recall properly; again I'm at my friend's house watching a movie when suddenly a large fire globe of orange/yellow color, with a trajectory from east to west, below cloud level at about 600 feet altitude, travelling approx. 200 miles an hour, the speed of a propellor bush plane I suppose, with no visible trail behind it, just a perfectly round shaped ball of fire, twice the size of the sun, cruising across the sky, seen through the living room window.
While this event transpired within 5 seconds or so, my friend's gaze was continuously toward the telivision movie, and never witnessed what I had at that moment; and therefore never believed my testimony until a newspaper article several days later in the Sudbury Star confirmed my sighting, as well as that of a few thousand others that eventful day.
The article went on explaining how a radar in Falconbridge, Ontario (near Sudbury) had tracked the object, along with other northern Canadian radars; even scrambling Michigan Air Force fighter jets which caught up with the "ufo" in western Canada, but the darn thing evaded the jets by turning a sharp 90 degree turn upward at an astonishing 15000 miles an hour out of radar sweep, heading toward outer space..
In closing, I'd like to mention that I am religious (as a Christian - non denominational), and that the Bible mentions that evil spirits have their abode here on earth, and that they walk to and fro deceiving whom they can deceive, appearing in the shape of many various forms, and have been deceiving mankind for thousands of years, their main mission being spreading evil and lies in the hearts and minds of men, by the predestination of God who created them and the evil they bare.
I cannot attest that what was observed in Echo Bay was spirit or material, angelic or military hardware; but I keep all memories as chapters in my personal life story, stored in my thoughts and heart.
I do believe it is quite probable that the military has technology more advanced than we are being told of, and that experiments of all kinds have been on-going since the manipulation of electricity was introduced to us over a century ago, by such men as Tesla and his like.
We've learned to harness electricity in more ways than one, and it remains to be seen what else is in store, especially in the warfare dept. where most of the budget is allocated.
