a straight line of very bright orange lights

well, if i held my hands out and spread my fingers from one end of the lights to the other i would say about an inch and a half, to be that big and that bright and be that far away i would say they must of been massive, i cant even begin to guess how large........

Distance to Object(s) & Altitude

they looked like they were up about ten thousand feet or so and maybe fifteen miles away

Description of Area / Surroundings

we were downtown in potsdam new york...........the nearest army base is sixty miles from here, and in the other direction from where we saw the lights............no power plants either.............

orange lights, all in a row, they flashed once, disappeared, and flashed again, all in a straight line, and they must of been huge, bigger than any blimp or plane myself or my son, who saw them too, have ever seen.. they looked like they were up about ten thousand feet or so............scared the daylights out of us, we watched our local news thursday late night, hoping they were seen by more people and reported but nothing was mentioned.......there is a picture that accurately depicts what we saw on website i found earlier today, but i didnt keep the web address and cant remember it now.........

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

no, no, no.............i have never seen anything like it, and i have seen balloons, blimps and planes at night and never have i ever seen anything like this............
