Appearance / Description of Object(s)

no distinctive colors. Thought they were stars at first until i noticed they were moving. They were no brighter or bigger than stars.

Size of Object(s)

I stand approximately 6'0" with a reach of about 20" If I were to hold up my hand the formation would fit inside.

it is an urban area with an airport near by

i'm on the internet doing some surfing, i stepped outside for a cigarette and looked up at the stars and saw three lights moving in the same direction. At first I thought I was just tired but then I saw that the three lights were moving in respect to the stars above. One light faded but the other two continued on in the distance until I could no longer make them out. They were in a tight triangular formation at first but as there dissapated one of the lights faded.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

possibly sattelites, but i don't think that tey would be in that tight of formation. Objects moving in a northeasterly direction.
