Appearance / Description of Object(s)

The object appeared to be a dot, orange in color approximately 2x less bright as the visible planet accompanying the moon tonight.

Size of Object(s)

If I were to hold a toothpick out with arm fully extended, the object would disappear. About the size 1/4 the size of afore mentioned planet.

Description of Area / Surroundings

I live in the suburbs of Houston, in Sugar Land TX. The Sugar Land airport is about 3-5 miles from here,but remember, I worked on the flightline with fighter jets(F-100, F-4 Phantom, F-84,86, T-33&38), both day and night and can judge aircraft speeds relative to altitude and this object was moving very fast relative to it's altitude better than mach-4.

Full Description & Details

I am a former US Air Force Fighter Jet Mechanic. I saw Spunik in 1957. I saw Haleys and Hale Bop. I ' ve seen Megellanic Meteor Showers. The oject I saw tonight was orangish in color heading southeast, from my perspective it was moving in a straight line beyond the

earths atmosphere at supersonic speed. Had this object been within the atmosphere, it would have disintegrated due to the speed at which it was traveling. The object was heading to the south of the moon. If I were to draw an imaginary line from the North to the position of the moon the object would have intersected that line at about a 90-degree

angle.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

Due the advances in technology I believe "Yes".

I am retired from the grocery business. I have an associates in ophthalmics. I am a happy-go-lucky, very handsome 56 year old, and just want to find out, if possible, what I saw tonight.

Views on UFOs, before and after sighting

When I was a child my brother and I saw an object in the sky. We thought it to be a UFO. My brother still remembers.He is now a retired Full Col. from the US Marine Corp. and to this day we cannot explain what it actually was. I don't now nor never had read articles or books on UFO's.
