Fairly bright, white and mildly red light. Light reflected off the low clouds.

The light was roughly half the size of my index finger, around 1/4 of an inch.

roughly 2000 metres above ground level.

Near Perth City, above the Swan River.

Full Description & Details

I was in the car with my mother and father, traveling from Murdoch to Applecross. It was about 9:00pm, and I was sitting on the left hand side of the car behind the passenger seat. In top corner of my eye I noticed a fairly bright light in the sky hovering roughly 2000 feet above the river. It wasn't travelling in any direction in particular, like a plane or helicopter would and it had no other blinking lights and made no sound (as far as I could hear). I also noticed the light would go out, and then suddenly the light would appear somewhere else in the sky. I asked my father what it was (my mother was asleep) and he could not explain it. I kept looking at it until my vision was obscured by trees. I am unsure of what it could have been, therefore I guess its an unidentified flying object.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

The object was travelling in no set direction and appeared to be rising and lowering in height.
