Appearance / Description of Object(s)

The only thing visible was a large and bright white light appearing to shine downward with no other lights visible. Could not make out any shape as it traveled straight up at such an unimaginable rate of speed.

Size of Object(s)

Both hands placed side by side would not have covered the light source. The light source was at least 20'-30' in diameter.

Distance to Object(s) & Altitude

Possibly 1,000 feet away and about 100 feet or so above the trees.

Community located in a rual setting with our property joining the Corps of Engineer's property at the Etowah River.

Me and my wife had gone out to sit on our deck and watch the sun set and enjoy the quiet and relaxing weather. There were just a few scattered clouds but for all in all it was a clear evening. We had discussed how it was so quiet and peaceful with no noise of any sort. I was looking out over the trees down toward the river when I witnessed a bright light suddenly turn on high above the trees, as though someone flipped a switch on a large overhead light and it was just a hundered feet or so above the trees. It went straight up without any sound and at an amazing speed passing through some patchy clouds then back into the clear night sky until it disappeared into the stars. As I turned to my wife and said, Did you see that?, another one in the same area did exactly the same thing. We both saw the second one and there is no other explanation other than a UFO. The lights in both instances were as though they were switched on and there were no sounds of any kind associated with their unbelievable speed from the time they started up til out of sight.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

There is no way these can be explained away with baloons, airplanes, birds, planets, or anything else.

I believe in UFO's. I have had some previous sightings of UFO's, but have just now decided to make an actual report of one. I have read books and have watched many TV UFO programs or presentations.
