Some news about the destiny of the french SEPRA.

I did an interview today with Arnaud Benedetti, who's in charge
of the official communication of the French National Center for
Space Studies (CNES).

Here are the main conclusions of the interview:

The SEPRA itself doesn't exist anymore since January 2004!

Jean-Jacques Velasco is now "in charge of mission" (he doesn't
lead any department anymore and acts alone). His mission deals
with "rare aerospace phenomena".

Nevertheless, discussions are opened (inside the CNES) about the
possible creation of a "think tank" ("Comite de pilotage") for
the establishement of a real program to study rare aerospace
phenomena (needless to sy, the cursed "u" word is never used by
CNES officials!).

The CNES doesn't care about the public declarations of Jean-
Jacques Velasco (in the media or in his book). It is not
concerned at all with the conceptions expressed by him.

Lets be optimistic: a GEPAN-like organization could arise in the
following months... (Yes I know, I've always been TOO
optimistic!).

About the SEPRA/GEPAN archives, Benedetti said that the material
would be available some day (to what kind of audience?), but the
"anonymisation" of all the papers will take a very long time (In
my opinion, it will never be done if people don't show that they
are interested in this topic).
