Appearance / Description of Object(s)

It looked exactly like the 3rd object from right in your series of images on the top of the webpage. I saw what looked like a flat-topped straw hat with close-set lights where the ribbon would normally be on the crown of the hat. Two tiny close-set rows of amber, blue and occasionally reddish lights.

Size of Object(s)

I could not tell if I was seeing a small object close by or a large object far off. Based on the area it appeared to be hovering over, if it were an aircraft of some kind I would guess it would have held about 7-10 people. Not huge, but not tiny either.

Description of Area / Surroundings

Rural, Blue Ridge Mountains, mostly grazing land in rolling hills on mountain tops, occasional tree lines between properties. Tree canopy varies from about 20 to 100 ft. Sparta is a small town in a low population county. The town was 3 mi. away behind me, behind a ridge of hills. The object was in front almost due east.

Actually, the photo 3rd from right in the series at the top of your webpage looks pretty much exactly like what I saw, except that I did not see the bottom of the object in the dark. Just the row of circular close-set lights on what looked basically like a flat-top straw hat. I heard a very low steady hum (no idling), almost too low to hear, felt a vibration in the floor. Lights flickered. I thought it was a truck but it never seemed to arrive or leave. The first night I could not see it. When the same thing happened the next night I went and looked and saw the object hovering over the next hill. I'd seen this object before further off and thought it was the Mars close approach, but now, closer up, realized it was not Mars. Nor was it any plane or helicopter I've ever seen, and my dad is a pilot. I grew up around airports. I watched the object for quite awhile. It did not often move, but when it did it moved abruptly and smoothly without any apparent need to maneuver into positions. When it left it was gone so fast I couldn't tell where it went. It was just gone.

Can sighting be explained as any conventional man-made or natural object?

I cannot say whether the object was man-made, since there are no doubt many military craft I've never seen. But it was not any man-made object or natural phenomenon that I have ever seen before. It was not reflections on clouds, auroras, the moon, birds, bats, etc. I have seen all those before many times. Reflections do not make sounds or vibrations, nor, as far as I know, do balloons or satellites. And it was not any aircraft I've ever seen.

I have seen programs for and against the existence of UFOs. I think some are hoaxes, some can be explained by other phenomena, and some cannot be explained as anything other than either top-secret military devices or something made and operated by someone (or something) other than man. I have no idea how many siting really belong in which categories. I don't suppose we will ever really know.

This object was a thin disc looking like abject about 30 feet in diameter & about 5 feet in hieght. This disc looking abject had a bright bluish color . It was very smooth looking like dull round circular disc shape. It was very close to the grass on the field about 4-5 feet high.

1103 farm rd , Cibolo Texas. The field is an open area of just grass, farm field. There is a air force base but it is about 7 miles away, no where near to the sighting. There are a few houses through out 1103 farm rd. There are some cattle and a few crops on 1103.

I was driving on my way to work on 1103 farm road & I saw a disc looking abject with

a a bright glow to it. I thought that I was seeing things ,but this was no dream. This all took place as I left my house & took a left turn out of my home complex onto Farm Road 1103 heading west on 1103. I was no more than 3 miles on 1103 when I saw this flying disc at 4:45 am . This disc was more like a white blue color & just moved at the speed of my ford ranger at about 45mph. It then just took off like it reached speeds like when a rocket takes off. I then looked back at my clock digital display on my radio & it still said 4:45 am. I am on the look out every morning now as I am still so puzzled wondering what the hell was in the dark sky. I work in Austin ,Tx & I Iive in Cibolo,Tx That is why I leave eary for work.

I can also remember in detail what area this all happened at. This happend on my passanger side window where this huge farm looking feild is. There are some small trees, but mainly an open field . This disc looking object was low, about 4 or 5 feet.

There were no other vehicles at the time, just pitch dark . there are no lights on 1103 frm rd

just a long dark road. 1103 is exactly 4 miles from my house to highwat 35 .

Befor I saw this disc object, I can remember I looked at my radio clock which said 4:45 am

I then looked to my right (passanger side window), out to the large field. That is when I saw a dull light, which all a sudden became very bright, like a bluish white, then this disc was about little more then my hieght of my passanger side door handle. It just like stood at the same speed of my ford ranger & then just took off as I mentioned earlier at a high speed.

I did not hear anything or smell anything. I did notice that it was hotter than normal in my truck, because I had to turn my a/c on. I also noticed that there were no other vehicles around,which was kind of weird. Usaully there are some cars driving on 1103., but there was not one car on 1103 from the moment I left my house until I got to highway 35.

I wish that I can show someone exactly where I saw this object. I know what a jet or plane looks like, because I love planes, & I know what model is what. There were many stars & it was a very clear night.

There were 3 incidents in the same area

#1:I was in the front passenger side of the car , we were traveling north on Co HY #29 ,it would have been near midnight in the winter of late 86 or early 87. There was a large ball of yellowish white light to my right going mostly horizontally but slowly descending. This is /was a heavily wooded area ,but the spot was a clearing by a creek(williams creek). It was not very high up no more than twice the heighth of the trees. It looked to be about 20 feet across. It was going north faster than we were so it disappeared from the right window and then I could see it through the front windshield. It was a perfect glowing ball, giving it a hazy or fuzzy look . It was not spinning as there was a green colored area at the bottom that stayed in the same place. It did not appear to be a flaming meteor as the movement through the air would have made flames come off the back -there was no distortion it was a perfectly round glowing ball. The glowing light did make the surface appear hazy. I concentrated on that thing in an effort to make a lasting mental image. It was high strangeness. It descended behind the trees. Then there was a bright flash of light eminating upward in a semicircular shape that could be seen through and above the trees.. It was like a big explosion but there was no sound accompanying the flash. We reported it to the police and suggested that it may have been a helicopter in flames.( we knew it wasn't but we wanted them to go see what it was.) They did come there to the spot where we saw it but they did not go into the woods either. I was 26 years old at the time and had never seen anything like that before. Nor have I since. I have seen plenty of meteors -even ones that broke apart and fell quite close. I love to watch meteor showers. If this object had been something like that , given the size there would have been a tremendous explosion. One of our neighbors said he saw it too from a different location. Another person who lived on the same road said she saw the same thing but a few nights earlier and her husband made fun of her when she told him. I dont think meteors travel around the area for a few days.

#2: Months later I was alone at night driving at the exact same spot when the lights on the truck went off. That never happened before or after. Anywhere else and it would not have scared me as much. It was very dark out and I could not see the road. I drove to the only house that was there at the time and got out calling the couple who lived there by name as I knocked so they would answer the door(quickly). I called my father and he when he got there the headlights worked.



#3: There was one more incident in the same area( off of co rd 29-about 4 miles from the previous incident) the following year .It was october at 10:00 PM. I had just turned off my bedroom light and sat on the bed. I did not even have time to lie down when the whole room lit up very brightly. It did not seem to even be coming in through the windows. It was as if the roof was gone and it was a bright sunny day. No shadows to tell where the light was coming from. It was like being in a microwave oven -the room was permeated with light. I just froze like an animal, I really felt that some one was looking at me. And that they wanted me to know it. Otherwise why wait until right after I turned the light off. I turn the normal light off and someone else turns an all encompassing light on. It lasted long enough for several thoughts to race through my head, trying to understand what was happening . I estimated it to have been about 10 seconds. There was no noise such as a helicopter would have made. My dogs were not barking as they would at anyone. As soon as it stopped, I noted the time. (10:00PM)Then I went through the house and checked on my kids. The security light outside my son's room at the oppposite end of the house, was still on. It used to go off for a few seconds if there was bright lightening. Then it would take a few minutes to reach full brightness again. It was bright, so the light had not shined on it. I went outside and saw nothing out of the ordinary. My dogs were not barking. There were dogs barking furiously beyond the woods however. They could have been after an animal though. I noted the time when I went back in the house to make sure only a couple of minutes had passed. My house was (and is) about 1/2 mile off of a country hy-down a gravel private access dead end road. No other structures are on it at all..It is entirely surrounded by woods. Where the house was (and is) was just a circular area cleared in the middle of the woods. (easily over a thousand acres of woods) You can hear a vehicle coming down the gravel road as soon as it gets off the highway. I moved away for a few years the following summer. That incident scared me so much that I cannot sleep in a dark room anymore. I cannot even be in a totally dark room without panicking instantly. I always leave multiple lights on in case one goes out. Other than that ,I'm not afraid of things that most people are. It happened so long ago and writing this is making my heart race. I dont tell people about this stuff for obvious reasons. I always wanted to discuss it with someone who might have some insight about it though. I would like to talk to someone who may be know of a natural explaination for the ball of light and the room lighting up.

we were fishing at night and all of a sudden we saw these lights so we all looked up and there was a big ovla shaped object hovering above us so we were pondering what it was then we all looked up again it started to spin faster so we watched it it rappidly gained speen until BAM there was a loud noise and the object dissapearded

It was a Dark Chocalte brown triangel object that went silently with a slight sucking of air sound. the two back corners of the bottom of the triangle were lited up with 8-10 rows & about 8 across of redish lights that seemed to pulse with the movement of the object. I went outside on the rooftop & watched it go over our house & head to the busiest street in Sacramento called Broadway. The size and destination had me surprised that there was no other reports? I begged my Dad & Mom to call the police or/and Air Force. My dad did call but I'm not sure they actually called and didnt just play it off. Right after the incident I told my best friend to not talk about it but to just draw it, we drawed the same thing. this occured alnoe time ago, but when i asked him recently he confirmed that this did happen.

well I was only about 12 years old at the time.

My Dad and mom had recentley bought some desert property , so as a family we would go out to our property in the summers only and camp out several times.

We had a generator we had lights in our camp grounds we were living.

But one night was very differnt.

That night we had cousins uncle and aunts a total of about 15 people that were camping with us.

Well it was about 10:00p.m. to 11:00p.m. it was late we could see the stars really good out in the desert.

Again I was only 12 years old or younger.

Well from what I can remember there was this huge light or I should say It look like a wharehouse in the sky the lights were set apart like a buliding, just like lights outside a big building.

Everyone was freaking out and me I was excited because i felt safe being with my parents and all." I was a sceptic thinker even then I kept thinking those lights must be from the farmers out here it must be there lights somehow.

I just couldn't get my self to believe what was going on.

But then the generator shut off and everything shut off at the camp we had no lights.

I remember my brother yelling its the size of a school.

But even as a child I kept thinking there must be an explanation for this.

Then my uncle decided to go get closer to it on his motorcycle he got it started and drove up and around the corner, then I could hear the motor just die, there was alot of screaming but I could not see them, then shortley they just walked back .

Talking with fear and excitment all mixed together.

But still all this time the light was still in the sky just doing nothing but just there

then I started thinking there are no telophone poles out here so how would a farmer get lights way up there what does he use to keep all those light up there in the air like that.



I also remember how the building in the sky was slanted side ways some, but still nothing was happening with the light.

Then our focus turned to somthing strange as if the night was not strange enough

Well you have to emagin we are in a desert so there are many rolling hills of sage brush every where , well we all seen a light floating down the hill its dark so we can only see a light we all witnessed all of us that night, the light kept bouncing up and down then would move closer to us .

My first impression of that was someone is out there with a flash light and trying to scare us. so as a child I started going around camp to see who was missing because It looked like a flash light size light., But everyone was at camp, so then we were just all watching this light bounce around and at times it would go about 9 Feet high then it would go slow then it would go fast, and no one could hear a thing out there it was silent.



And then when the light was getting closer it shut off, that was it we never seen the light again the rest of the night and everone was talking and freaking out some mostley my uncle .

The generator came back on and all the lights were back on, the light in the sky I didn;t pay much more attention to it, but I remember it was still there when we went to bed that night.



Now that I'm 38 years old I feel somthing unexplained happened that night that I will never understand, First I can't believe my parents did not get the hell out of there.

What made the adults want to stay ?

I feel some how somthing happened but I just can't ever know.

Later in life my uncle died of serious infections all in his body.

But that night haunts me still and now that I'm older and can understand what it was i seen

It freaks me out, how do I know if this thing didn't do somthing to us and made me forget somehow.

All I know now is there was no way those lights in the sky had anything to do with a farmer.

Also that night my uncle did indeed burn 1/2 his face, just strange things that night.

But I was young.

For a split second I thought an airliner was on fire, or disintegrating. It was a round fireball, with chunks of fire breaking off the back end, almost as if in slow motion. It was very surreal, like a firework. The chunks would flip out and twirl in pinwheel fashion. The object itself appeared to be made of magma. The impression I keep getting over and over again is the Medusa, for some reason.

I was talking to my brother who lives in Seattle on my cell phone by the pool, in my backyard. It is usual to see airliners approaching Sky Harbor (Phoenix) in this area. Being an aviation enthusiast, something in the air caught my eye - I looked up and to the near West, where a large fireball was slowly moving North-Northeast towards the Indian Reservation. It was in level flight, for the most part, with a slight bob. Sparks and chunks flew off the back of it. It was visible for a good 10-15 seconds at least, before some trees obscured my view of it. It was totally unreal. I was certain there would be thousands of witnesses. I am surprised there was not. I called the airport and air force the next day to see if something had crashed. The air force took a report.

Not really. Unless somebody staged an elaborate hoax using flares and remote control balloons, or something. That's all I can think of.

I've always liked the subject of UFO's since childhood. I read a lot about them, but had never seen such a convincing example. Everyone has seen strange lights of course, but this was large and obvious. I feel lucky in a way, but I can't share the story too much, since people don't really care.

It is a very bizarre feeling to have seen this thing. It's like walking into your house and finding the dog walking on the ceiling, upside down. Totally surreal. You keep asking yourself over and over 'what is that'? 'what IS that'?! Then it's gone. I thought of every explanation I could to resist the UFO explanation.

The formation consisted of from 12 to 16 very faint glosing orange lights, outlining the edges of this shape, like a formation of gliding birds -- glowing, orange-light birds.

Just a few hundred yards east of the beach in New Smyrna Beach, Florida -- a fairly highly developed tourist area, filled with hotels and small beach homes.

I was standing in my yard, facing north, at 9:26 EDT, when I heard the engine of a small plane overhead. I looked up and saw the flashing light of a small plane moving more-or-less NNE to SSW, consistent with the sound of the plane engine. The plane was fairly low and was flying toward me, causing me to lean back and bend my head back. I watched it for only 2 or 3 seconds -- only long enough to see if I could locate it from the sound. As I started to move my head forward again, I saw, above the level of the airplane (which already had left my field of view), a formation of faint, pale orange lights moving in almost exactly the opposite direction -- that is, SSW to NNE.

The formation was like an irregular letter "M" being spread open -- similar to the constellation Cassiopeia, though not so open. The formation consisted of from 12 to 16 such lights, outlining the edges of this shape. There was no sound at all -- total quiet, and the formation glided quietly but quickly across the sky.

The sky generally was cloudless -- at least in the area of this formation; and, other than seeing it was above the level of the small plane that had just flown over, I had no frame of reference to estimate its size, altitude, or speed. But the speed and the quiet, combined, created strong impressions.

The speed with which it crossed the sky created the impression that it was quite low -- but it had been at least higher than the small plane, and the total silence causes me to question if it really could have been that low. On the other hand -- again reacting to the silence -- it seemed to be moving just too fast, and be too big, to be so high that there would be no noise at all.

The overall impression was like a formation of birds gliding overhead -- but they would have to be birds that glowed with a faint orange light. I tried to imagine it as a cloud in the "open M" shape, somehow light from underneath, but it moved entirely too quickly to have been a cloud.

My total sighting of this formation lasted for perhaps 10 seconds, after which the faint lights faded into the ambient glow from the lights in the town.

I can't think of anything. I considered birds or a cloud, but the formation moved entirely too quickly.

Hi, I just saw the most spectacular and equally mystifying sight I have ever seen in my whole life!!... I was out standing out in the front yard of my cottage, which is located in a small village in Romania (Ialomita) about 1 1/2 hours ago, smoking a cigarette, tired after another hard day of work. It was about 9 PM, and there was no one on the road just outside our house. My wife was inside the house looking up something on the Internet.

The night was clear and the stars were out. I like starlit skies, so I take my time to gaze at them, whenever I get the time. Tonight also, as I had said before, I was casually watching the night sky, taking an occasional puff at the cigarette.. Suddenly, as if from out of the blue, and to my utter disbelief, I saw an object in the shape of a monstruous boomerang gliding past just above my head. It was at a very low altitude, and was made up of tiny patches of shining lights. The most interesting thing is, even though it was gliding so low, it was like a feather, never making any sound!!! It glided past so gracefully and efforlessly over my head that it seemed utterly unearthly. I first thought it was a group of migratory birds forming a pattern, flying over my head (such birds sometimes make a V pattern when they fly).. But, how on earth can they all shine dimly? How can they make such a steady, graceful movement? I blinked my eyes just to confirm that I'm not dreaming. Just when I was watching this phenomen gliding past, WITHOUT MAKING A SOUND, I saw a lonely figure on the road outside walking hurriedly. This object was gliding past his head too, but he didn't even realize it.. the whole scene was so quiet, and if you didn't look above, you wouldn ever realize such a thing is happening!! It is a pity only I saw it. The object disappeard from my view within a few seconds.. it went southward.. The whole experience lasted only for maybe 7 seconds or less.

I was dumbfounded and called my wife and told her the news. To my surprise, she told me the study room lights fluctatued almost around the exact time I saw this object.. and she didn't even know what was happening!

At first, I didn't know what to do, but then I decided to see if someone else anywhere in the world has seen this today (Sept. 29, 9 PM). I didn't find any on google, but I got some links ot some recent sightings, and to my surprise, I find the object that I saw looks exactly like the second pencil sketc CHAD FROM KENTUCKY made, on this website earlier this month. It is not like his first picture. The thing I saw looked exactly like his second drawing.. the V shaped object with lights (he only drew a few lights on it, but the thing I saw was made up of small, faint, shining lights.)

I would very much like to get in touch with Chad from Kentucky. .all the other drawing I saw on your site do not match my sighting; only his does.
